Rice Cultivation and Production
At A Transição Verde, we are proud to work directly with local farmers and farming associations across all stages of our rice production.
Centralised at our 19,000 m² production facility in Chokwé (Gaza Province), we process and sell premium quality rice at traditional quality prices. Through our extensive national network of relationships, we have developed partnerships for the sale of local, high-quality rice that maximises farmer productivity and supports domestic businesses. Our focus on domestic rice products minimises reliance on rice imports, reducing prices for consumers and providing direct employment for communities and small scale farmers in Chokwé.
Coordinated by our technical team in Chokwé, we also distribute rice seeds to small-holder farmers, providing improved, high-quality inputs and guaranteed offtake agreements. This allows rural farmers to maximise their crop productivity while accessing secure, reliable income from ATV who connect local rice production to national markets. The first of a series of campaigns began in October 2025, and are a key step in our mission towards developing resilient and inclusive farming systems across Mozambique.
Animal Feed Production
The animal feed industry has been globally recognised as a key sector needing to address it's value chain emissions, and is a critical sector in Mozambique requiring local development based on sustainable principles.
To promote a circular agricultural economy, ATV champions a waste-to-value strategy within our rice processing. We transform rice husks - an abundant byproduct from rice processing, often discarded as waste - into a nutritious, high-fiber animal feed. This approach significantly reduces agricultural waste, emissions associated with burning, and provides affordable, accessible livestock feed to local markets.
ATV are also working towards the development of animal feed products containing microalgae through sustainable, close-looped systems.
